Simplicam Boosts Security with Facial Recognition

  • PDF

SimplicamArcSoft claims to make internet-connected cameras more useful as a means of home security as it presents Simplicam at CES 2014, a wifi camera equipped with facial recognition.

Unlike other wifi camera systems requiring one to manually check through footage, Simplicam features motion, sound and facial detection software supposedly able to notify users of potential intruders.

Should the camera detect anything unusual the user gets an alert, and automated alarm systems get activated.

Also included are night vision, two-way talk and access from any PC, iPhone or Android device. An optional Closeli closed cloud service allows the recording and saving of clips from the camera.

The Simplicam should start shipping from February 2014.
