Sony dreams of turning living room walls into large-as-life "entertainment windows" with the the 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector, a self-descriptive number able to project up to 147-inch images from very close distances.
Seen in prototype form at CES 2014, the projector apparently only requires putting it "right next to a wall that would not yield any shadows of people into a screen" when it comes to setup. It even carries a pair of built-in speakers, and hides all components in a stylish console-style cabinet.
Inputs include HDMI, USB and RJ45, while IP connectivity allows customers to get 4K content from online sources such as Video Unlimited and Netflix.
The 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector ships in the US by Q3 2014, with no word of a European release as yet.
