Power protection and intelligence solution maker ESP/SurgeX acquires SurgeX International, a previously independent entity following the 2008 acquisition of SurgeX North America by Electronic Systems Protection (ESP).
The financial details of the deal are not available, but all SurgeX operations will be unified under a single US-based management team.
According to the company global demand for smart energy and power management solutions is on the up, and thus the acquisition allows for better coverage of an electricity-dependent world. The unification will also increase product development and lead to more consistent customer, distributor and dealer service.
The SurgeX product portfolio covers AV, IT infrastructure, digital signage, integrated systems and more with professional power protection and intelligence for rack systems, branch circuits and standalone equipment.
“We have existing residential and commercial product lines, development capabilities, and manufacturing capacity to serve the evolving needs of our growing international market," ESP/SurgeX says. "Furthermore, the move will increase sales opportunities for our US-based dealers, consultants and design integrators who handle installations all over the world.”
