DGL Group is the next company to take on Philips Hue-style smart LED lightbulbs with Hype Tapp, a system complete with colour-adjustable wireless LED bulbs, hub base station, wireless outlet adaptor and app.

The 7.5W 588 lumens LED bulbs promise to provide energy savings, as well as a choice of 16 million colours. The lighting system requires a hub device connected to the router in order to connect to all bulbs (up to 52 in one system).

Bulb control controls the Tapp (iOS and Android) app, which also allows the creation of lighting scenes and features such as contrast/brightness control, timers, flash locate, photo colour recognition, music strobe and play applications.

DGL Group also offers a a wireless outlet adapter, although it does not specify whether it provides dimmer functionality as well as simple remote on/off control.
