Toronto-based power component maker Torus Power announces its independence from parent company Plitron Manufacturing, and is now operating as an autonomous entity.

Torus Power is best known for clean, isolation transformer-based power sources for audio, video and control systems. It attributes the transition to the success of its product offering-- with January 2016 showing "record" sales numbers and Q1 2016 promising to be its strongest quarter yet.

The company retain key employees, with founder Howard Gladstone staying as chairman and CEO, Kevin Main becoming president and COO, and Ros Whitney taking the role of technical sales specialist and customer service manager.

“By taking a dedicated and diligent approach these last few years, Torus Power has become an established and well recognised brand name in the industry. To take things to the next level, it is important for us to execute these significant steps and create our own best-in-class culture for Torus Power Inc.,” Main says. “We will continue to have a deep, ongoing relationship with Plitron Manufacturing and expect this to be a very positive change for all involved.”

The independent Torus Power will also take over all existing rep and dealer agreements, with Main and Whitney managing all related efforts.
