RTI announces a two-way driver for the Fusion Research Play-Fi music servers-- allowing installers to incorporate the Play-Fi server into RTI automation systems, providing customers with whole-home audio control.

RTI Play-FiThe Play-Fi server combines the Fusion Ovation music server with the Play-Fi open platform from DTS. Designed for the custom install channel, the server bridges automation system and 3rd party amps and speakers, enabling both wired and wireless high-definition music distribution throughout the home.

It supports 6 discrete sources-- 3 physical, 3 Play-Fi-- in one box, as well as over a dozen streaming services (including Pandora, Spotify, Tidal and Tune-In), internet radio and iTunes backup/synchronisation.

Meanwhile the two-way driver provides an intuitive control interface allowing users to browse through music options. It also provides cover art and song metadata on RTI controllers, and users can select the music playback location, control volume and make adjustments to other integrated electronic systems through a single RTI user interface.

"End-users desire easy access to their music with the freedom to listen anywhere they want," RTI says. "With the Fusion Play-Fi driver, RTI dealers can integrate the Fusion Server into the RTI control system to simplify access to an amazing set of music sources throughout their clients' home."

The Fusion Play-Fi music server driver is available from the Fusion website.
