CEDIA 2016 has a demonstration of the first projector with integrated lighting control-- a collaboration between Ilumi Solutions and Optoma Technology in the simplification of home theatre control.

The solution combines an Optoma 1080p short throw laser projector with Ilumi Bluetooth MeshTek technology synced with plug-and-play Ilumi smart lightbulbs. The lights are linked to the projector control commands and adapt to projector status, dimming when turned on, brightening when turned off, dynamically adjusting to image brightness and colours, and flashing red/green when muted/unmuted.

A companion iOS app handles control of both projector and lightning eliminating the need for hard wired control.

MeshTek technology promises to provide easy room lighting control without extra hardware or programming. It can enable the simultaneous control of up to 50 devices from a single app within Bluetooth range of 120m, allowing the integration of multiple related products in the home. The technology is currently being evaluated for applications including TVs, fan control, sensors and other IoT devices.
