Origin Acoustics launches expansions to the Landscape Bollard Loudspeaker lineup at CEDIA 2019-- specifically the Big Bollard and the Bollard Light, a version of the Standard Bollard with a light on top.

The Big Bollard features a 10-inch burial subwoofer porting out of the sleeve, just before the acoustic lens. Above the lens is a 6.5-inch two-way loudspeaker. Director Collection technology allows the company to keep the width of the sleeve at around 20cm, making it larger than the original model.

The long-running rumours turn out to be true as Sonos announces the Move at IFA 2019-- a first portable, battery-powered speaker from the company featuring both wifi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Around 25cm tall and weighing 3kg, the Move promises to be tough enough to handle nearly everything the great outdoors can throw in its direction. The plastic casing is IP65-rated against water and dust, and features a built-in handle. Inside are two Class-D amplifiers pushing a single tweeter and a mid-woofer driver, with TruePlay tuning automatically tweaking the sound to adapt to the environment.

McIntosh announces the MA352-- a second integrated amplifier from the company featuring a hybrid design bringing together both vacuum tube and solid-state audio design principles.

The all-analog design has a vacuum tube preamplifier section powered by a pair of 12AX7A and a pair of 12AT7 vacuum tubes. The output stage is a direct coupled solid-state amplifier outputting 200W per channel into 8-ohm speakers or 320W per channel into 4-ohm speakers, making double the output of the previous McIntosh integrated amplifier, the MA252. Dual scale blue Watt speakers give an accurate power output readout for both speaker impedances.

Denon adds to its soundbar offering with a pair of premium options-- the DHT-S516H and DHT-S716H, both combining 4K HDMI inpupts with ARC support while building on the features founding the HEOS Bar and HEOS HomeCinema HS2 soundbars.

The two Denon soundbars share several sound quality and connectivity improvements. They feature Class-D amplification across a variety of performance-tuned drivers, and ship with the latest version of HEOS built-in music streaming nad voice control (Amazon Echo or Google Home speaker required).

MSE Audio announces means for customers to enhance the outdoor audio experience with low-frequency bass-- the Rockustics OneSub and DubSub subwoofers, both featuring durable rock-style enclosures.

According to the company, the enclosures are built with "high-quality and innovative" engineering to withstand rain, frost, snow and ice. The OneSub is a standalone passive subwoofer requiring a sub amplifier with an active crossover, while the DubSub is a dual-voice coil subwoofer performing as a sub/sat system. Both feature 4 ohm impedance, 8-inch polypropylene subwoofer and a frequency response of 38 to 100Hz.

Bose announces the Portable Home Speaker-- a compact combo of battery-powered speaker, Bluetooth connectivity and voice control promising 360-degree sound and deeper bass within a design weighing just 1kg.

The Bose Portable Speaker features a proprietary voice pick-up system compatible with either Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, allowing users to access playlists, podcasts, news, weather, smart devices and more through the power of their voice. AirPlay 2 compatibility provides connectivity with Apple devices, while Spotify Connect pairs the speaker with the Spotify app.
