MSE announces the SoundTube Entertainment STNet Switch II-- a proprietary Power over Ethernet (PoE) rack-mountable switch designed for use in Dante networks featuring 16 ports.

Designed for pairing with STNet IPD speakers, the STNet Switch II is a 1-RU, 16-port gigabit switch. A 700W power supply guaranties a proprietary 40W PoE to each SoundTube IPD speaker on the switch. While optimised for Dante, the STNet Switch II also features advanced management flexibility through the addition of a user-adjustable built-in DHCP server and two SFP ports for fibre or additional ethernet connections.

The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) releases version 2.0 of the DisplayPort (DP) standard-- a first major update since March 2016 providing an up to 3X increase in data bandwidth compared to the most recent version, DP 1.4a.

In total DP 2.0 handles up to 77.37Gbps of bandwidth, with a maximum link rate of 20Gbps/lane and more efficient 128b/132b channel encoding. Thus it promises to address the requirements of future displays, such as "beyond 8K" (7680 x 4320) resolutions, higher refresh rates and high dynamic range (HDR support at higher resolutions, improved multiple display configuration support and an improved user experience with augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) displays, including support for 4K-and-beyond VR resolutions.

EnGenius Technologies announces the ESR580-- a consumer tri-band smart mesh router promising price-performance mesh networking value to both entry-level customers and seasoned technology enthusiasts.

According to the company, the ESR580 overcomes the common challenges to providing a stable internet connection to remote parts of the house, such as basements, garages, yards and lofts. To do so, the router uses tri-band technology with a dedicated band for backhaul (network backbone connection). The addition of MU-MIMO technology enhances communication within the network, while a 360-degree high-performance antenna and rapid roaming capabilities allow users to move from room to room without network interruptions.

InfoComm 2019 sees Crestron expand the DM Lite endpoint line with the HD-RX-4K-510-C-E and HD-RX-4K-410-C-E receivers, both offering auto-switching, amplified audio outputs and network connectivity.

The DM Lite line offers simple yet high-performance transmitters and receivers able to switch and transport 4K signals over standard CAT5e cable. Also included is optional auto-switching, network connectivity, audio and video distribution, control distribution and audio amplification. Customers can mix and match DM Lite products to create simple systems for most spaces.

Customers simply need to pair any DM Lite receiver with a Crestron MPC3 media presentation controller to add room control. Engraveable buttons and dials on the MPC3 can be configured with the built-in .AV Framework software. The system can be provisioned, monitored and managed using any web browser via Crestron XiO Cloud IoT-based provisioning system.

Aurora Multimedia announces the DXE-218-- an 8-port 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI PoE splitter the company says is the first ever to feature downscaling per individual output.

The unit includes capabilities such as individual CEC control, EDID management, hot plug detection and EDID reporting per output. All is done through the LAN port for full control and statistics of all ports.
