Just Add Power Adds Dante and AES67 Audio to the Ultra HD-Over-IP

  • PDF

Just Add Power (J+P) announces the ISE 2019 debut of the 3G+ 767DSS Dante Enhanced Sound System transmitter (1G AV-over-IP), together with the addition of Dante and AES67 support to Ultra HD-over-IP systems with separate audio and video switching.

Just Add Power, DanteThe 767DSS transmitter claims to be the first with a Dante 8-channel chipset, allowing installers to input up to 8 audio channels from the J+P system for playout on Dante-enabled and AES67 devices. It also can extract up to 8 channels from the audio network for playout across the J+P system. The 767DSS is backwards-compatible with legacy 2-channel Dante and AES67 devices, with bitrates of 176.4 and 192kHz and latency as low as 0.25ms on a 1 gigabit ethernet backbone.

Bluetooth Gets Direction Finding

  • PDF

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announces a direction finding feature with the potential to "significantly" enhance Bluetooth location services by allowing devices to determine the location of a Bluetooth signal.

Bluetooth direction findingBluetooth location services fall in 2 categories-- proximity solutions and positioning systems. Proximity solutions use Bluetooth to understand when 2 devices are near each other, and how far apart. The category includes item finding solutions such as personal property tags, as well as point-of-interest (PoI) information solutions like proximity marketing beacons. The direction finding solution can allow proximity solutions to not only let a user know if if a personal property tag is in the area, but also the direction, enhancing the user experience.

The First Ethernet Switch With Integrated HDMI

  • PDF

The SDVoE Alliance presents what it claims is the first implementation of HDMI connectivity within an ethernet switch at ISE 2019 in the form of HDMI input and output modules plugged into a Netgear M4300-96X 10G modular managed switch.

Netgear SDVOEThe modules eliminate the need for standalone encoders and decoders to support in-rack video sources and destinations, simplifying design and installation, as well as reducing overall system cost. As the organisation puts it, the system combines IT and AV at the integrated product level, rather than the purely infrastructural level.
