Texas-based Modulus Media Systems claims to have a DVR designed for the streaming era-- the M1, a multi-function media hub able to record all streaming shows, and organise said recordings in folders for easy enjoyment.

First announced 2 years ago and 7 years in the making, the M1 was originally set for a late 2017 release. It promises to be a combination of multiple pieces of home entertainment hardware software, with the features of a DVR, function-rich media centre, multiple streaming boxes, Blu-ray/DVD player and personal media organiser.

Wall-Smart announces a partnership with Atlona offering flush mounts allowing installers to integrate Atlona Velocity touchpanels in new construction, retrofit and solid surface installations.

The New Construction Flush mounts for Atlona Velocity AT-VTP-550 5.5-inch and AT-VTP-800 8inch touchpanels integrate into any wall for unobtrusive installations preserving the room decor. They can also be painted any colour to truly appear to be part of the wall.

Meanwhile the retrofit mounts for Velocity touchpanels allow upgraders from older touchpanels, without need to do any drywall or paintwork. The mounted touchpanel remains accessible for service and maintenance. Finally, the flush mounts for solid surfaces allow flush installation in solid wood, marble, metal and other solid boards.

OneVision Resources now supports the OvrC remote systems management (RSM) solution, bringing about a turnkey solution combining the OneVision service platform with the support and management features of OvRC.

The partnership between OvrC and OneVision brings together OvrC troubleshooting and diagnostic tools and the OneVision service platform. Making the partnership possible is the OvrC "groups and permissions" feature set, allowing installers to grant the OneVision team of service and support experts to monitored sites. Such access allows OneVision to leverage to full OvrC feature set to monitor and manage client homes.

A recent firmware update adds more features to the iRoom iPad Docking Stations, including improvements on iPad security and further convenience in using the docking stations.

Some of the features require communication with the iPad OS, and have been implemented by iRoom as an Apple-certified manufacturer. One such feature takes care of the iPad during charging. One drawback docking stations face is the reduction of battery lifetime when the iPad is being constantly charged while being used. In the worst case, the battery swells and is permanently damaged. iRoom docking stations communicate with the iPad to switch to powering only the display without using the battery, extending battery life and preventing damage.

RTI announces an integration with the modular 2N IP Verso and compact 2N IP Solo IP intercoms-- allowing customers to use them with any RTI control device with video intercom capabilities.

The 2N IP intercoms combine door control with hidden cameras providing sharp video even at night, thanks to high-resolution settings and infrared backlights. Users can connect additional external IP cameras to the intercom in order to cover all blind spots.
