Vivitek announces an addition to the Qumi LED pocket projector series-- the Q38, a projector weighing just 750g able to project 1080p resolution images up to 130-inch in size.

The Q38 offers 600 lumens brightness as well as 10000:1 contrast ratio via LED light source promising 30000 hours of use. An internal battery provides up to 2 hours of use on a single charge. Audio is included through integrated dual 2W speakers, and customers can pair the projector to a compatible sound system via Bluetooth. Wireless connectivity also allows users to connect the projector to the internet and project HD digital content.

Optoma launches an upgrade of the low-cost HD27 home entertainment projector-- the HD27e, featuring an increase in brightness as well as quieter performance at 25dB.

The HD27e projects 1920 x 1080 images with native 16:9 aspect ratio, full Rec. 709 colour via RGBRGB colour wheel, 1.47:1 throw ratio and 25000:1 contrast ratio. It is 3D-compatible, and maximum brightness clocks at 3400 lumens. Audio comes through integrated 10W speaker.

BenQ announces the TK800-- a native 3840 x 2160 resolution DLP projector complete with HDR capability and an RGBW colour wheel able to achieve 92% Rec. 709 colour gamut with 3000 lumens brightness.

The TK800 is designed for consumer applications, with a number of pre-loaded templates including dedicated Football and Sports modes. The Football Mode claims to preserve natural skin tones while intensifying green grass. It also clarifies announcer commentary against the cheering crowd of an open-air stadium. Meanwhile the Sports Mode prioritises skin shades while enhancing wood tones, vivid reds and balanced greens and blues.

Portable projector maker Pico Genie brings its latest consumer offering at ISE 2018-- the M550 Plus, a pico projector that, at 650 lumens, is the company's brightest yet.

The M550 Plus beams 1280x800 resolution images in dimensions of to 200-inch diagonal from 0.5 - 3m distance. It offers 3D as well as regular 2D images, and promises a battery life of up to 3 hours on a single charge. The contrast ratio is 1000:1, while lamp life clocks at around 20000 hours. Audio is also included via 3W speakers.

Screen Innovations (SI) launches the Solo motorised screen at ISE 2018-- a screen the company says requires zero wiring, with power coming from a lithium core motor.

The Solo is charged via proprietary magnetic core SI claims provides over 2 years of life with a single charge. ISE 2018 hosts two variations of the Solo screen. The first, Solo, comes in a clear anodised cassette and is shown in a 100-inch configuration.

The second, Solo Pro, can be ordered in 12 different designer-selected colours and in low-voltage. At ISE it seen in a Ferrari red cassette colour and suspended on aircraft-grade cables.

BenQ announces the CineHome HT2050A-- a 1080p home entertainment projector upgrade of the HT2050 featuring a 6x speed RGBRGB colour wheel able to achiever over 96% Rec. 709 accuracy with CinematicColor technology.

The HT2050A is 3D-capable, and comes equipped with two 10W CinemaMaster Audio+ speakers for deeper audio. Low 16.67ms input lag and a special Game Mode make the projector ideal for gaming, while a pair of HDMI ports (HDMI x1, HDMI/MHL x1) allow the connection of a Google Chromecast, Roku or Amazon Fire TV. MHL connectivity allows the streaming of HD content from any MHL-enabled mobile device.
