Panasonic follows on the CES 2020 launch of the flagship HZ2000 OLED TV with the announcement of three OLED and three 4K LCD TV series for 2020, all offering Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ support.

The OLED TVs-- the  HZ2000, HZ1500 and HZ1000 series-- support both Dolby Vision IQ and a Film Maker mode with Panasonic "Intelligent Sensing" to bring what the company claims is "Hollywood-level" HDR performance in both dark and well-lit living rooms. The HZ2000 and HZ1500 series TVs also feature built-in upward-firing speakers capable of pushing immersive Dolby Atmos audio, and all OLED models have the same fine tuning by Hollywood colourist Stefan Sonnenfield as well as UHD Premium certification.

Luxury and outdoor TV maker Aquavision announces a TV aimed strictly at the luxury end of the consumer market-- the DB100, a set featuring 24-carat gold plating and a price tag of no less than £108000.

The DB100 comes at a massive 100-inch, and has a 4K LCD panel. It is manufactured in the UK, and collaboration with Bang & Olufsen makes it compatible with products from the Nordic high-end audio brand. As such, customers can control the TV using a B&O remote control, and it is ready for integration with B&O hardware. On the software side the TV runs on Android 6, and it comes with both HD and satellite tuners. It also features a toughened anti-reflective glass front.

LG announces a number of 2019 smart TVs in over 80 countries are getting an Apple TV app, allowing customers to easily access the Apple TV+ service and subscribe to Apple TV channels, though a click of the LG Magic Remote.

The 2019 LG TVs also support Apple AirPlay 2, meaning users can share or mirror content from iPhone, iPad or Mac directly on the TV. Customers can also play music on the TV and sync it with other AirPlay 2-compatible speakers anywhere in the home. Meanwhile HomeKit support lets users control the TV with the iDevice Home app or by voice using Siri, with controls including power on/off, volume changing and input switching.

Sony joins the list of companies launching an 8K TV at CES 2020 with the ZH8-- a TV featuring a full array LED panel and what it company dubs a frame tweeter, a technology turning the TV frame into a speaker.

Essentially, the frame tweeter vibrates the frame of the TV to emit sound, giving viewers the feeling sound is coming directly from the screen. Available in 85- ad 75-inch models, the ZH8 also features the X1 Ultimate picture processor and 8K X-Reality PRO technology to upscale content to what Sony claims is "closer to 8K quality," while ambient optimisation automatically adjust image brightness according to the ambient lighting of the room.
