LG Rolls Out Short Throw 4K Laser Projector

LG announces the availability of the HU85LA, a 2nd-gen short-throw 4K laser projector able to create a 90-image projection from just 5.5cm distance (or a 120-inch image from 18cm away).

LG projectorFirst launched back at CES 2019, the HU85LA is a followup to the first LG short-throw 4K laser projector, the HU80KA. The update features a change in design, since instead of a tall, black tower the HU85LA looks like a rectangular gray box. It promises images reaching up to 2700 ANSI lumens of brightness, with a fixed UST lens offering a 0.19 throw ratio.

Severtson Presents SAT-4K Screens at CEDIA Expo

Projection screen maker Severtson Screens announces plans to showcase the next-generation SAT-4K Acoustically-Transparent projection screen line at CEDIA Expo 2019, held in Denver on 12-14 September 2019.

SAT-4K“Our SAT-4K has received tremendous accolades since its launch, and we are proud to build upon its success with the next generation which features an even finer weave and whiter material that makes the viewing image even better than before,” the company says. “Made in the USA, the SAT-4K replicates the cinema experience in the home and commercial settings like no other projection screen on the market today.”

The next-generation SAT-4K is a seamless projection screen with "virtually" no size limitations. Like the Severtson TAT-4K, it is available as an option for the company's 4K thin/zero bezel fixed frame projection screen solutions. Being acoustically-transparent allows installers to place the entire sound stage behind the screen at the same horizontal axis, allowing the audio to be fully in sync with the on-screen images.

A Portable Epson Laser Projector

Epson announces a first portable laser projector-- the EF-100W/B, a projector the company says is designed for the ultimate in flexibility, measuring just 23cm along the longest edge.

Epson portable projectorThe EF-100W/B features a laser light source in a compact chassis complete with vents and power inlet on the side, making a compact projector customers can place and project in any direction. Thus, it can be easily project images up to 150-inch on walls, ceilings or floors. The laser light source promises bright and vibrant images, even in daylight, while an auto picture adjustment feature takes care of distortion.

The laser light source lasts up to 20000 hours, while a user-friendly UI makes it easy to use. An HDMI port allows connection of phones, tablets, DVD players, game consoles or laptops, as well as streaming devices such as an Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, Roku or Apple TV. Built-in speakers provide audio, and one can also add speakers through Bluetooth connectivity or 3.5mm jack.
