MetraMetra Home Theatre Group announces the 16-channel Hybrid DVR (SPY-DVR16HYB2) able to handle the 4 most common video technologies, together with 16 new Spyclops cameras.

The Hybrid DVR provides more flexibility through compatibility with 4 types of video technology-- namely AHD, TVI, analog and IP. Installers can use any combination of technologies across all 16 channels, combining 4 components in one system. It is available either with or without an HDD, allowing dealers to bring costs down.

It records at 1080p resolution with up to 15fps for TVI, AHD and analog, and up to 25fps for IP.

Lilin Intros 2MP ZR8022 Camera

Lilin launches the ZR8022-- an IP camera featuring a new chassis, 2MP CMOS sensor and a powerful 20x optical auto focus lens allowing zoom adjustments via browser control.

Lilin ZR8022Available in 2 versions (the ZR8022X20 with 20x 4.7-90mm zoom and the ZR8022X10 with 10X 5-50mm zoom), the camera includes a built-in backbox for tidy wiring. Power comes through either 802.3at PoE+ or standard DC12V adapter, while a rear ball joint allows for on-wall or on-ceiling mounting.

The company adds the camera features Sense Up+, a technology able to improve video quality during low light conditions through a combination of image signal processing, AGC control and 3D noise reduction. Being IP-capable, it streams 1080p video at 30fps complete with 2-way audio, and customers can set up email alerts triggered by tampering, audio, face and motion detection.

Nest Cam Heads Outdoor

The Nest Cam (aka the rebranded Dropcam) was a capable enough security camera, but limited to indoor use. Enter the Nest Cam Outdoor, a version designed for outside use.

Nest CamAs the name might suggest, the Nest Cam Outdoor features a weatherproof casing and more mounting options, including magnetic and screw-on mounts for attachment outside a building. However one has to keep in mind the camera requires constant power via plugging to an outlet.

On the technical side the Nest Cam Outdoor is identical to its inside-only sibling. Video resolution is at 1080p, field of view is 130-degree and 8 IR LEDs allow for night vision powers. Recording happens exclusively on the Nest Aware cloud, with no connection to local DVR available.

D-Link Adds Automation to DCS-8200LH Camera

D-Link announces an addition to the mydlink Connected Home series-- the DCS-8200LH, a 180-degree wifi camera featuring IFTTT support and a microSD card slot for local recording.

D-Link cameraThe camera records video at 720p resolution and pairs with other mydlink connected home devices. Control comes through the mydlink Home app, with IFTTT (If This Then That) support allowing integration with other app as well as the creation of automated routines through conditional commands.

For example, one can create an IFTTT recipe having the DCS-8200LH automatically start recording whenever the home owner leaves the house, or take a snapshot whenever the doorbell rings. The app also allows the remote checking of live or recorded footage via smartphone or tablet.
