Stealth's StingRay 6 at ISE 2014

Stealth Acoustics shows off the latest addition to the StingRay outdoor speaker family at ISE 2014-- the StingRay 6, a smaller-sized descendant of the StingRay 8 with 38cm width and 10cm depth.

Stealth ISE 2014It carries a 6-inch cone woofer (explaining the name) and a neodymium tweeter for a 2-way speaker handling frequencies ranging from 50Hz to 18kHz. Casing construction is in ASA plastic and fibreglass, with no grills or openings to allow surrounding environment inside.

The enclosure features an environmental protection rating of IP-68, meaning it is both water- and dust-proof. Stealth claims the speaker can operate at temperatures ranging from -18 to 65 degrees C, with a waterproof cable pigtail for further protection.

Also seen at the show is the SA2400 dual-channel amplifier. Rated at 450W RMS per channel, it uses Class A/B output stage and a high-current power supply for long-term reliability.

Built-in DSP allows further ease and flexibility of use, with the Stealth Signal Management System (SSMS) allowing complete per-channel programming of features such as 11-band parametric EQ, high/low pass filters, limiters, delay and phase. Inputs include balanced XLR, unbalanced RCA and speaker level connections with associated pass-through connectors.

Both StingRay 6 and SA2400 are available now. For the near future the company is preparing its 6th generation of Invisible speakers, as well as multi-channel amps including an 8-channel model set for an early 2015 release.
