Marantz Adds DAC to Headphone Amp

HD-DAC1Headphone-using audiophile customers might be interested in the HD-DAC1, the first headphone amplifier from Marantz featuring an integrated DAC, as paired with technologies from the company's Premium 11 series.

It drives high-impedance headphones of up to 600 ohm via 3-level gain control, Marantz HDAM modules, the CS4398 DAC and fixed and variable RCA outputs.

Inputs include optical and coax digital, as well as an USB-B port allowing the connection of iDevices and streaming from PCs. The USB port features an asynchronous mode for 192kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio, as well as DSD 2.8Mhz and 5.6MHz.

As for construction, the front is in solid aluminium as paired with retro-style wooden side panels and a double layer bottom plate.
