Danish audio maker Dynaudio launches the Excite X14A, a high-end active bookshelf loudspeaker following on the company's previous Excite X14 passive model as "the ultimate compact audio system."
Derived from the company's studio monitor technology, the Excite X14A features one 50W digital amplifier powering the bass/midrange drivers, while a second powers the tweeters-- making a two-channel setup equivalent to a 2x100W stereo system.
The cabinet carries a soft dome tweeter and a MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) long-throw woofer, with a rear-ported bass-reflex design enhancing bass performance. Also included are 3 equaliser switches for performance fine-tuning according to placement (near a wall, corner or free-standing), as well individual adjustment of bass, midrange and treble levels.
A high-pass filter (60 or 80Hz) allows customers to partner the speakers with a subwoofer.
The Excite X14A is available now in satin white, satin black, rosewood and walnut finishes.
