The Hidden 360-Degree Hub Speaker

Hidden, the company behind the pop-up HiddenRadio speakers, presents the HiddenHUB-- a 360-degree speaker promising adaptive acoustic sound and smart features within a sleek design.

HiddenHUBThe HiddenHUB features interesting adaptive sound technology making use of an accelerometer to detect whether the speaker is on a flat surface or mounted on a wall. Meanwhile a combination of IR sensors and proprietary logic board scans the room housing the speaker and dynamically adjusts audio to fit the space.

The result, at least according to the company is "no more dead spots... you will always experience the perfect audio set up."

In addition, as the name suggests the HiddenHUB can act as an audio hub, connecting to other speakers (including other HiddenHUB units and HiddenRadio speakers) via Bluetooth, home wifi or an own 5GHz network. Users can also connect PCs and mobile devices via Bluetooth, wifi or AirPlay, all with DLNA support.

Control comes through companion mobile device app or a "smart dial" on the top edge of the speaker.

Hidden gives no actual HiddenHUB audio specifications, but says it carries 4 high-definition drivers and a neodymium subwoofer within a "glass fibre, reinforced polymer endoskeleton."

The HiddenHUB is currently available on a preorder basis through the Kickstarter platform. Once crowdfunding is over the speaker should ship from March 2015.
