Unison Research launches the SH-- a single-ended two-stage headphone amplifier using valve technology to provide “world-class sound from a specialised device using the best technology available."
Designed for use with both digital and analogue sources, the SH features a linear circuit the company says produces low negative feedback and an output voltage able of driving a wide range of headphones. An ECC83 valve takes care of the input stage while output comes from an EL84, a valve capable of driving the output transformer with "optimal electrical and sound character."
The SH offers 2 headphone outputs connected in parallel, both with an own EL84 valve and a sensitivity swtich allowing for a range of headphone types. Users can connect any line-level sources to the unbalanced RCA input. An asynchronous USB input and integrated DAC allow support for high-resolution audio files up to 384kHz PCM and DSD 128.
The SH is available now with a choice of either cherry or black faceplates.
