Designer Yves Béhar brings about an unusual concept for the turntable-- the Love is, essentially, an oversized, spinning tonearm packing all the hardware making a traditional vinyl player.
Described as "the first intelligent turntable," the Love uses Bluetooth and wifi to connect with smartphones and speakers. Music playback involves putting a record on top of a base (two are included) before putting the Love over the record. The device "scans" the vinyl to obtain song information and the number of tracks, before playing it via standard stylus on the bottom.
The Love lacks speakers, meaning audio output takes place via wifi, Bluetooth or connected 3.5mm or RCA audio cable, and the makers claim the companion smartphone app allows controls such as play/pause, track skipping, song repeating and volume.
The makers say the Love should be launched sometime on February 2017 through Coming Soon Tech, a website promising exclusive deals on "the best emerging tech."
