Denon adds to its soundbar offering with a pair of premium options-- the DHT-S516H and DHT-S716H, both combining 4K HDMI inpupts with ARC support while building on the features founding the HEOS Bar and HEOS HomeCinema HS2 soundbars.
The two Denon soundbars share several sound quality and connectivity improvements. They feature Class-D amplification across a variety of performance-tuned drivers, and ship with the latest version of HEOS built-in music streaming nad voice control (Amazon Echo or Google Home speaker required).
The DHT-716H pairs with the Denon DSW-1H subwoofer (sold separately), while the DHT-S516H ships with a companion wireless subwoofers. Both soundbars support DSD (2.8, 5.6MHz), FLAC, WAV, ALAC (192/24), MP3, WMA and AAC (USB/network) audio. HEOS Built-in allows for wireless whole-home audio, as well as streaming from Amazon Music, Spotify Premium and free, Pandora, TIDAL and Tunein Internet Radio, and the DHT-S516 adds AirPlay 2 compatibility.
The HDMI 2.0b inputs allow for features such as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for use with compatible Xbox consoles. The DHT-S716H can leverage HEOS speakers, including the HEOS 1, HEOS 3 and HEOS 5 as rear channels for surround sound.
The DHT-S516H features a low-profile wall-mountable design Denon says will not block the bottom edge of the TV or IR remote sensor. It supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Encoding, and includes Denon Dialogue Enhancer to improve dialog intelligibility in movies and TV shows with complex audio soundtracks. Connectivity comes through HDMI with ARC, Optical digital input, 3.5mm auxiliary input and Bluetooth.
Meanwhile the DHT-S716H features Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound decoding, together with x4 HDMI inputs with 4K UHD passthrough, HDR, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby Vision (HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2), plus ARC support. Adding the optional DSW-1H wireless subwoofer and surround speakers creates a 5.1 listening environment.
