JBL Professional launches the DSi 2.0 series cinema amplifiers, offering "class-leading" power output, state-of-the-art DSP and advanced networking capabilities for the JBL cinema loudspeaker range.
As the first JBL-branded cinema amplifiers, the DSi 2.0 series builds on the Crown DSi series amplifiers. As such, the range combines the DSP from the Crown CDi DriveCore series amplifiers with a high-power design to deliver superior efficiency, reliability and audio fidelity. The DSi 2.0 series includes three power configurations-- 350, 700 and 1200W-- with 6 models (the LA4, LA4-D, MA4, MA4-D, SA4 and SA4-D) available in analog and analog-plus-digital versions with Dante/AES67 and SNMP connectivity.
The amplifiers offer four amplification channels with bridgeable outputs in a 2RU footprint, and are PowerMatched for JBL Cinema loudspeakers. DSi 2.0 series amps can power up to four JBL surround speakers with a single channel in a high-power-density 2 Ohms mode, while the 96kHz/32-bit floating point DSP offers signal processing such as parametric EQ, FIR processing and LevelMAX limiting, among others. DriveCore technology reduces the variability of component values for greater reliability, while built-in presets manage voltage levels, crossover settings and more to maximise system efficiency.
The analog-plus-digital options offer AES67 connectivity to enable networked audio distribution from any AES67 or Dante-compatible device, as well as direct interfacing with Dolby Atmos Connect without need for additional processing hardware. Dual network audio ports allow the configuration of primary and secondary networks as switched (daisy chain) or redundant (star) topologies. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) connectivity allows interfacing with 3rd party theatre management systems and Cinema Control (NOC) systems for remote status and fault monitoring. A HiQnet port provides access to Harman Audio Architect software for amplifier control, configuration and management over standard TCP/IQ network.
