Integra and Onkyo announce firmware updates allowing select products to work with Sonos, allowing users to control receiver volume through the Sonos app on smartphone or other devices.
The firmware update enables select Integra Onkyo and Pioneer ELITE receivers to utilise Sonos volume passthrough capabilities. As a result, users no longer need preset volume levels on the receiver or worry about issues related to multiple volume controls. It also allows volume control from anywhere in the house.
The Integra DRX-3.3, DRX-4.3 and DRX-5.3 support the update. The Onkyo TX-NR696, TX-NR797, TX-RZ740 and TX-RZ840, and the Pioneer ELITE VSX-LX304, VSX-LX504, SC-LX704 and SC-LX904 will be automatically upgraded with the new functionality. The Works With Sonos certified AVRs can manage and route up to three Sonos Ports or Connects without need for a control system.
