The Optoma HDCast Pro Streamer

Optoma takes on multimedia streaming dongles with the HDCast Pro-- a device users plug into projector or TV HDMI ports for wireless media streaming from smartphones, tablets or PCs.

Optoma HDCastIt also streams movies, videos, photos, music documents and websites from home networks. A companion mobile device app allows smart devices provides zoom, play, pause, rewind and volume controls, as well as drawing and annotation of files on the big screen from a mobile device. The dongle is compatible with AirPlay, Miracast, MHL and DLNA, and streams 1080p content at 24 or 30Hz up to 10m away from the source device.

As such, the company adds the device is also ideal for business applications such as laptop-free presentations, internet browsing or mirroring laptop or mobile device screens, with support for cloud storage surfaces (such as Dropbox and Google Drive) and a built-in web browser.

“The HDCast Pro is primed for instant plug and play viewing, which means set-up couldn’t be simpler as no cables are required to connect a source to the projector or TV," Optoma says. "It’s a great way to enjoy super-size images that previously could only be viewed on the tiny screen of a mobile device.”
