The 180W-per-channel AVR also supports DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualisation Technology, allowing it to deliver more immersive soundfields from DTS and Dolby soundtracks respectively. It can process up to 11.2 channels, allowing it to drive a 7.2.4 speaker setup when used alongside an external 2-channel amplifier. As for music, the Denon HEOS multi-room streaming platform comes built-in.

In total the AVR-X3600H features x8 HDMI inputs and x3 outputs, with support for 4K 60Hz video, HDR and 4:4:4 Pure Color sub sampling. The HDMI inputs support Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG and 4K UHD, together with eARC and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) for Xbox One users. HDCP 2.3 copy protection comes as standard.

On the audio side, the AVR carries AKM 32-bit DACs with high-resolution audio decoding for ALAC, FLAC and WAV up to 24-bit/192kHZ. It also handles 2.8/5.6MHz DSD files. As an X-series model the AVR-X3600H is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Siri voice control. Other features include a phono vinyl input, main zone TV audio sharing and room calibration via Audyssey MultEQ XT32.

The AVR-X3600H ships from August 2019.
