Security vendor ADT has the ambition to "lead the next generation of security and automation" as it announces alliances with LG and Nest to create a "groundbreaking all-in-one smart security product."
Dubbed the "LG Smart Security product," the device acts as a hub for both security and home automation applications. It provides ADT-powered monitoring and video hosting and connects with all matter of other devices, with a single app handling control duties.
“As LG smart technologies help drive the internet of things (IoT), we see home security and professional monitoring as the connective tissue tying together the smart home,” LG says. “By collaborating with a leader like ADT to create a unique connected home security product, we will deliver best-in-class product innovations and services to consumers.”
Meanwhile the partnership with Nest involves integration with Pulse, adding to the list of previously announced partners, namely Ford Sync, Intel Security, iControl Networks, Life360 and IF (aka IFTTT).
Pulse will also get a mobile app by Q3 2015, with features including voice authentication and control within a sleeker redesign.
