“We’re committed to applying the full force of our unparalleled engineering resources and expertise to make Crestron Home the best smart home experience in every way,” the company says. “In fact, we add an average of a dozen new features each month along with support for more and more partner manufacturers’ devices.”

Aimed at small to mid-size homes and MDU installations, the MC4-R is a flexible control system powered via PoE. It offers a full complement of built-in control ports, and includes an infiNET EX wireless gateway. Installers can either surface- or rack-mount it, and the small size even allows installation behind a TV. Crestron claims it can control "hundreds" of devices, with "dazzling" performance and industry-leading security.

Moving on to the Crestron Home updates, the platform gets support for the DALI and BACnet control platforms, as well as partnerships with the likes of 2N, CoolAutomation, Jandy, Pentair, Hayward, Sonos and Domotz. It is also compatible with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Sonos devices. ISE hosts the debut of smart TV support, with direct access to streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu from the Crestron app, touchscreens and remotes, as well as support for Dark Mode on iPhones and iPads.

The TSR-310 remote and Crestron touchscreens can control Apple TV via IP, as well as through voice using Siri. An enhanced UX allows access to garage door, gate and door lock control, and the system supports pool and spa controls. Installers can integrate audio and video DAs, add live camera control and monitoring, and protect sensitive subsystems with passwords. Finally, Google Assistant support includes lighting control.
