URC Adds TRC-1480 Remote

URC debuts the TRC-1480-- a handheld remote with a push-to-talk voice control feature, 2.4-inch touchscreen complete with two-way metadata and hard buttons, all within an ergonomic design.

An integrated microphone allows voice communications with Alexa or Siri (for Apple TV). The TRC-1480 is aimed at both home and pro AV applications, and provides full control of the URC Total Control 2.0 system, including TVs, cable and satellite boxes, AV gear, music systems, lighting systems, security cameras, door locks, thermostats, motorised shades and more.

Ergonomically placed finger grooves and a satin finish on the underside, as well as an evenly distributed weight of just 226g, make the remote easy to balance in the hand. The tactile hard buttons ensure intuitive control without need to look at the remote, while the 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen allows selection of the room to control and displays shortcuts, favourites, metadata, graphics and backgrounds to aid in the control of the entire building. Installers can easily custom program the remote using URC Accelerator software.

The package includes a docking station for charging the remote. A pick-up sensor conserves battery life by waking the remote when lifted off a coffee table or from the docking station. URC Quick-Connect Wifi connects the TRC-1480 to the wifi network instantly without consuming power during standby mode.

The TRC-1480 ships from November 2019.
