Toshiba reveals the latest Regza home server at CEATEC 2011-- the DBR-M190, with a hefty 5TB of storage, enough to store 15 days of MPEG4AVC digital video content.
It carries eight tuners, six of which (and 4TB of storage) handling what Toshiba calls "Time Shift" recording-- real-time simultaneous recording from up to x6 digital TV stations.
The remaining 1TB of storage handles normal recording from up to x2 stations.
It can also connect to DLNA-compatible devices (such as Toshiba's AT700 Regza tablet) to either stream live TV or allow access to previously recorded content over wifi.
The package also includes Blu-ray playback.
The DBR-M190 will be available on the Japanese market from November, with no mention of an international release-- especially since Time Shift recording is currently only compatible with Japanese cable TV.
