Flat LG OLED TV at IFA 2013

Not all LG OLED TVs are curved-- the company reveals the "Gallery OLED" (model 55EA8800) at IFA 2013, a resolutely flat 55-inch HDTV claiming to be the first wall-mountable OLED TV around.

Gallery OLED"Our GALLERY OLED TV comprises the perfect blend of subtle beauty, unmatched picture quality and immersive sound,” the company continues. “Challenging the status quo, this beautifully designed and engineered product is a clear example of our ability to think beyond the ordinary and provide consumers with a differentiated experience.”

The TV features a front-facing "Canvas Speaker" 2.2 channel sound system  inside an "aesthetically pleasing" frame. Continuing the artistic theme is a Gallery Mode allowing one to use the TV to display high-resolution artwork from the likes of Vincent van Gogh or Paul Gauguin (or simply family photos) when they are not watching the latest Breaking Bad episode.

IFA 2013 visitors can check out the Gallery OLED TV (and its curvy sibling) at the LG stand.
