WSJ: Apple Plans TV Streaming

Following the Apple Spring Forward event fresh rumours emerge on the iPhone maker's supposed TV plans-- the Wall Street Journal says the company is set to launch a streaming TV channel package by Q3 2015.

Apple TVAccording to the WSJ Apple is negotiating for a "slimmed-down bundle" of 25 channels customers might actually want (as opposed to an extensive catalogue of mostly ignored offerings) from broadcasters such as ABC, CBS and Fox. The service would be available on the Apple TV STB, as well as iOS devices.

The report comes after Apple announced an Apple TV price reduction (from $99 to $69) and the addition of HBO Now, an exclusive subscription-based service providing customers with access the Game of Thrones maker's entire TV catalogue.

Neither Apple nor networks confirm or deny the WSJ story, and in any case such a service would surely be initially available in the US before eventual arrival in our side of the pond.
