OnePlus (Finally) Debuts TVs

OnePlus follows on the drip-feed of details with the launch of two own-branded TV sets-- the Q1 and Q1 Pro, both featuring a 4K QLED panel with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support running on Android TV.

The choice of OS provides for some interesting integration with OnePlus smartphones, as well as support for both Google Assistant and Alexa. A OnePlus Connect companion app allows users to input text and switch between Android TV apps using the smartphone, and it automatically lowers TV volume when one receives a call on the phone. Chromecast support also comes built-in.

But what is the difference between the two models? The Q1 features a 50W built-in soundbar with Dolby Atmos support, something the Q2 upgrades with a sliding 8-speaker array. The Q2 also includes a stand, while the Q1 requires customers to purchase a separate dock or hang the TV to a wall using the built-in Vesa mount. Otherwise both TVs are identical, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor and connectivity via x4 HDMI ports, wifi and Bluetooth 5.0.

The OnePlus TVs are available a preorder basis in India. The company still gives no word as to whether the TVs will launched in our part of the world.
