Stewart Filmscreen Intros 16K+ Phantom Screen

Stewart Filmscreen sets to announce the Phantom HALR at CEDIA 2016-- a flexible high ambient light rejecting screen material designed for fixed-frame wall screen or electric roller screen applications.

Stewart PhantomIdeal for both day and night applications, Phantom HALR black technology offers what Stewart says are four unique features. The screen is seamless in sizes up to 40- by 90-feet, designed for use with most Stewart fixed frame or ElectriScreen models, and available in Cinemaperf or Microperf X2 THX Ultra configurations for acoustic transparency.

It is also described as "future-proof" through proprietary 16K+ resolution capabilities. As such it is both UHD- and HDR-ready, and calibrates out to REC 2020 or REC 709 standards. Stewart also says the screen delivers over 30:1 contrast for a 2000 lumen projector in a room with 20 foot-candles of ambient light and several light sources hitting the screen surface at 40-degree angles.

In high ambient light conditions with over 50 foot-candles of ambient light directly on the screen, Phantom achieves ANSI standard industry contrast ration standards.

Neutral in both horizontal and vertical direction thanks to proprietary multi-layer composition, Phantom HALR has no directional limitation. As a result it has no "sweet spot axis," meaning every seat in the house is the best, whether one is sitting directly in front of the screen or off-centre.
