BenQ presents the HT8050-- a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) single-chip DLP 4K UHD home cinema projector complete with THX UHD Display certification.
The company says such certification guarantees the HT8050 accurately reproduces content the way the director intended. Requiring 10 times as much data analysis and 7 times the engineering effort and resources in precise colour and gamma adjustments for pure Rec. 709 compliance, the HT8050 is the result of over 18 months of rigorous development and 200 THX laboratory tests covering over 500 data points to ensure strict colour accuracy, precise gamma, ideal colour temperature, enhanced uniformity and super high native contrast ratio for THX certification.
After passing 3 rounds of live testing at THX HQ, the HT8050 offers supreme overall image performance with a pre-calibrated THX mode promising the most accurate out-of-the-box picture quality possibility. Augmenting a high native ANSI contrast ratio are Active Iris and Dynamic Black technology, SmartEco and a proprietary black paint sealed light engine producing 50000:1 dynamic contrast performance.
The HT8050 natively supports 2.35:1 anamorphic aspect ratio, and should be available by end February 2017.
