BenQ Intros Flagship HT9050

BenQ announces a flagship home cinema projector-- the HT9050, a native 3840x2160 resolution 4K UHD projector powered by Philips ColorSpark HLD LEDs and BenQ CinematicColor technology.

BenQ projectorAs a result, the projector can produce the DCI-P3 colour space, a gamut encompassing a larger portion of the visible colour spectrum than RGB and Rec. 709. In addition, ColorSpark HLD LED technology combines green light four times as bright as conventional green LEDs via high-lumen-density phosphor module with high-brightness red and blue LEDs.

The company adds lamp life clocks at 20000 hours, and the lamp is both mercury-free and maintenance-free, with instant on/off response. Contrast ratio is 50000:1, while brightness reaches 2200 ANSI lumens. The included CinemaMaster image processing technology is ISFcc certified, and the projector supports 2.35:1 anamorphic aspect ratio.

Connectivity comes through x2 HDMI ports (HDMI 1: HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2; HDMI 2: HDMI 1.4a and HDCP 1.4), x1 VGA port and both IR and serial for control.

"A unique combination of industry-leading color technologies and standards, including BenQ's CinematicColor, Philips' ColorSpark, DCI-P3 and DLP, the HT9050 brings a true cinematic experience to the home," the company says. "This new flagship cinema projector produces simply captivating color and an amazingly realistic picture. It's hard to put it into words how impressive the image is. You have to see it to believe it!"
