Draper Launches Utra Short Throw ALR Material

Draper announces the TecVision XH800X UST ALR and CS1000X ALR-- a pair of additions to the TecVision line of ISF-certified 8K-ready viewing surfaces.

Draper surfaceSet for an InfoComm 2018 debut, the TecVision XH800X UST ALR is a premium ambient light rejecting surface aimed for use with ultra-short throw (UST) and short throw projectors in moderate to high ambient light applications. It promises to reject 57% of off axis ambient light, while still supporting wide viewing angles. Available in NanoPerf up to 2.5m image height, the surface works works with lens throw distance ratio up to 0.25:1 or longer for best brightness uniformity.

Meanwhile the TecVision CS1000X ALR includes TecVision with 82% ambient light rejection, making it ideal for spaces with high ambient light and no way to control it. The surface has a half gain angle of 20 degrees, and should be viewed within 30-35 degrees off-axis. Draper also recommends a lens/throw distance ratio of 1.6:1 or longer.

TecVision is available in sizes as large as 20 x 7m, and boasts what Draper says is better off-axis performance than similar products. TecVision surfaces offer minimal variance in gain spec and optimal uniformity for better ambient light performance. The company adds the surfaces are engineerd for high contrast, precise resolution, colour accuracy and the broadest possible view cone while providing consistency and uniformity.
