The Vivitek HK2288 4K DLP Projector

The compact Vivitek HK2288 promises both big screen detail and contrast as well as low-latency processing for customers wanting to both watch movies and play games, all with 4K resolution and HDR support.

Vivitek ProjectorThe projector features a Texas Instruments 0.66-inch 4K DLP DMD chip able to generate 8.3 million individual pixels. Also included are DLP DarkChip3 and BrilliantColor refinements for deep black levels and vibrant cinematic images. To resolve a 4K 1-pixel line pattern, the HK2288 uses eXpanded Pixel Resolution (XPR) technology employing 4.15 million (2716 x 1528) mirrors capable of switching over 9000 times per second to deliver two discrete pixels for each mirror per frame.

Further boosting 4K UHD performance are finer shadow detail, textures and a 1000000:1 contrast ratio. Brightness is rated at 2000 ANSI lumens, while advanced video processing offers smooth upscaling and motion together with low latency input lag (around 50 milliseconds). Installers get comprehensive gamma and colour management adjustments to optimise a wide REC709 colour space via 6-segment RGB colour wheel.

Also included in the projector are a 1.39-2.09 throw, 1.5x zoom and vertical lens shift for easy installation and setup. Connectivity comes through x3 HDMI 2.0 inputs, and dual IR sensors in the front and back allow control from a full-function remote. Lamp life reaches up to 4000 hours when using Dynamic Economy mode.

The HK2288 is available in either black or white.
