Control4 Buys Ihiji

Control4 announces the acquisition of a remote management services provider-- Ihiji, providing Control4 with a one-stop shop for remote IP network and IoT ecosystem management when paired with the Pakedge BakBak portfolio.

Control4 IhijiThe deal covers certain Ihiji IP, development and support teams, and inventory. Financial details are not available.

“Connected home opportunities are emerging globally, and their individual performance, reliability, and resilience are foundational to all successful installations," Control4 says. "By combining Control4’s BakPak, with its strong network management capabilities, and Ihiji’s Invision, with its industry-leading device monitoring and management capabilities, Control4 can provide a set of unified cloud-based services to our dealers to securely and efficiently monitor end-customer systems."

The joint Ihiji-Pakedge team is already working on the unified cloud-based service platform, which will be available in phases to Control4 and Ihiji dealers, as well as end-customers, later during 2018. The ultimate goal of the platform is a single integrated monitoring and services offering providing complete visibility and control at the network level.

Another result of the acquisition is a name change-- the Ihiji APP-750 network appliance is now the Pakedge NX-1. Furthermore, Control4 is eliminating all subscription fees of the Ihiji Invision management services, making it both easier and more financially efficient for dealers to provide remote management services to customers.
