CEDIA Opens Nominations for Board of Directors

CEDIA announces nominations are open for the 2020-2021 board of directors. The board influences the direction of the industry, governs association activities and represents the residential technology profession to the outside world.

There are 7 open board positions for the 2020-2021 term. The association fills positions in 2 ways. CEDIA members vote to fill 4 elected positions. Home Technology Professional members employed at a member company can be nominated, as vetted by the governance committee and proposed as candidates for the global membership vote. Filling the vacancies in the election cycle are one CEDIA member from the EMEA region and three from the rest of the global membership.

All other member types (manufacturers, service providers, etc) and additional Home Technology Professionals are eligible for appointment to the board, with 3 open appointed positions for the 2021-2021 term. One is filled from the EMEA region, and two from the rest of the global membership. The CEDIA governance committee reviews candidates according to skills required, and makes a recommendation to the board. The process runs in parallel with the election.

To nominate a candidate for the board, individuals need to fill out a nomination form. CEDIA accepts nominations until 2 August 2019. All new board members are announced immediately after the election, and are seated on 1 January 2020.
