Google-owned Nest announces the European release of the weather-resistant version of the Cam IQ security camera-- the Cam IQ Outdoor-- following the initial September 2017 US launch.
The Cam IQ Outdoor features the same facial recognition technology as the regular indoor IQ, only within a weather- and tamper-resistant body. It also promises "Supersight" with a 4K digital sensor, HDR and 1080p video with up to 12x zoom, and automatically zooms in whenever it senses someone approach the premises.
An additional Nest Aware subscription adds even more cloud-powered capabilities, such as Person Alerts warnings whenever a person is near the house and online footage storage for 5, 10 or 30 days. As for control, Google Assistant integration allows one to simply speak to the camera.
