Celerity Technologies shows off a solution for pulling HDMI cables through walls without compromising signal integrity or the cable itself at CEDIA Expo 2012-- a fibre optic cable with detachable HDMI connectors and audio return channel support.
The connector at each end of the cable is fairly small (7 x 25mm), allowing for easy pulling of the fibre optic pre-wire cable without need for fibre termination. One then simply affixes the detachable HDMI connector to the cable plug, making a simple 2-step process.
The cable features proprietary technology converting HDMI signals to light, with 1080p, 3D, 4K and 36-bit Deep Colour support. It is UL-910 Plenum rated and fully supports HDCP, EDID, DDC and CEC requirements.
