HDMI Cables Get Premium Certification

HDMI Licensing announces the Premium HDMI Cable Certification Program-- a program involving additional and enhanced HDMI cable testing and a unique anti-counterfeiting label.

The program includes a best-practices design note and an expanded set of cable testing requirements to ensure cables reliably support the full 18Gbps bandwidth required by HDMI 2.0 specification. Also involved are testing guidelines for EMI levels to minimise unwanted interference with wireless signals.

Testing takes place at HDMI Autorised Testing Centres (ATCs), and cables making the grade get registered with HDMI Licensing. Vendors alsoget the right to brand and promote cables as Premium High Speed HDMI Cables or Premium High Speed HDMI Cables with Ethernet through tamper-proof anti-counterfeit holographic labels manufacturers, distributors, retailers and consumers can check through a mobile app.

The Premium HDMI Cable Certification Program is currently available to HDMI Adopters, and participating HDMI ATCs are ready to start cable testing.
