Savant announces "significant" updates to the Studio iPad-based quick configuration tools, including a Smart Behaviours Editor, quick secure connections to wireless devices and an Alert Center.
The Smart Behaviours Editor allows installers to create customised workflows to improve configuration efficiency. Examples include the capability to automatically raise/lower a motorised lift when a TV is on/off, or creating an audible and/or visual alert when a doorbell is pressed. It works in conjunction with the Savant cloud-based central management portal (SCM), allowing the storage of user preferences such as Savant Scenes, customised Savant Pro App photos and other Studio configuration parameters to the cloud.
Another feature allows the S2 host to create secure, wireless connections to the Savant Pro Remote and other wireless devices without accessing the client wifi network. The new version of Savant Studio also adds more 3rd party device integrations, including door lock and IP control of Samsung displays demanding an encrypted registration process, among others.
An Alert Center provides a checklist of items needed to complete the Savant configuration. It also notifies installers of items required to complete the system, such as entering device IDs or connections preventing an audio or video path from functioning properly.
