Screen Innovations (SI) launches what it claims is the "first ambient-light screen that’s massive and black in colour"-- the Slate .8, a screen the company says allows for super large displays in brightly lit environments.

Slate .8The Slate .8 is made from a flexible, multiparticle optic material, and reportedly delivers a 55% increase in contrast over the nearest competitor while blending with any décor. It also rejects up to 65% of room ambient light, an improvement over the 10% light rejection of white or gray screens.
