  • PDF

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announces CEA-861-F, aka "A DTV Profile for Uncompressed High-Speed Digital Interfaces"-- a CE standard set to "help drive the Ultra HD and widescreen market."

CEAAccording to the Association the standard applies to a number of DTV-related high-speed interface specifications (namely HDMI, DVI and LDI) and defines the colour, aspect ratio, frame rate, compression codecs and broadcast technology standards for advanced digital video displays and equipment.

The profile can be used for the implementation of new versions of each interface.

A development of the Uncompressed A/V Digital Interfaces working group, the profile has approval from the CEA DTV Interface Subcommittee.

The CEA also announces the CEA-861 PlugFest19-- an occasion for vendors to test out the compatibility of their products with those from other companies before said products hit the market.

“CEA PlugFests are an extremely valuable tool," the Association says. "They’re a component of a company’s quality control program and we encourage everyone to attend."
