Sony launches a trio of SXRD projectors at CEDIA 2013-- the VPL-WW1100ES and VPL-VW600ES for customers demanding 4K/UHD (4096x2160) resolutions and the VPL-HW55ES for those wanting projection in regular HD.

Sony ProjectorThe VPL-WW1100ES is the flagship model, and comes bundled with an optional FMP-X1 Media Player for access to 4K media content from the Sony Video Unlimited services.

On the specification side it delivers 2000 lumens on screens up to 200-inch diagonal in size. Dynamic contrast ration is 1000000:1, while further features include dual triggers, 2.1X motorised zoom, expanded lens shift, RS232 interface, control over IP and compatibility with leading home automation systems.

Sony also claims the WW1100ES carries an upscaling algorithm for "more accurate" 4K picture quality from "Mastered in 4K" Blu-ray discs.

Customers can get the projector as part of an impressive premium activation service package complete with in-home service visit, FMP-X1 player, Xperia Z tablet as remote control and a replacement lamp.

Meanwhile the VW600ES offers DCI-based 4096x2160 resolutions with 1700 lumens of brightness and 200000:1 contrast ratio. An enhanced optical engine promises rich colour reproduction, and installers can adjust hue, saturation and brightness via auto-calibration and manual colour correction features.

The final projector is the VW600ES, a compact number featuring front-exhaust, 2.06X powered zoom lens, wide lens shift range and built-in RF transmitter compatible with Bravia 3D glasses.
