Anthem starts shipping its second generation of high-end AV receivers-- the MRX 510 and MRX 710, both promising boosted amplification, advanced room equalisation and improved HDMI capabilities.

MRX 510First revealed at CEDIA Expo 2013, the receivers carry ARC 1M, an enhanced version of Anthem Room Correction (ARC) software. Makes use of an included microphone kit, ARC 1M even provides customers with "before" and "after" print outs of the results of equalisation technologies.

Advanced Load Monitoring technology monitors voltage and current to keep output transistors within safe operating areas, with a heat sink tunnel allowing cooler operation. This allows the receivers to work harder for longer periods, shutting down only in situations of very low speaker impedance and excessive music levels.

Other second generation features include 7 HDMI inputs (plus front panel input options), 2 HDMI outputs, 4K upscaling and pass-through, HDMI return channel and improved HDMI switching, up to 20 input configurations and IP, RS-232 and iDevice control options.

Speaker crossover adjustments are available in 10Hz increments.

Analog to digital video conversion and 3D video support return from the first generation, while processing modes include Dolby Volume, DTS HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD and Anthem's own AnthemLogic.
