Panasonic confirms its loyalty to HBaseT even further as it joins the HDBaseT Alliance, consortium of companies behind the standard, as a contributor member to help promote and standardise the technology further.

HDBaseTThe vendor already makes part of the HDBaseT movement, and offers around 20 HDBaseT-enabled projectors and displays as part of the Digital Link portfolio. All use a single CAT5e cable to transmit uncompressed HD video, audio and control signals for up to 100m.

“Panasonic is not just a strong advocate for HDBaseT, it is also a market-leading provider of HDBaseT-enabled components, that has played and will continue to play a critical role in growing the ecosystem of HDBaseT products,” the HDBaseT Alliance says. "Its success with integrating HDBaseT into projectors and professional displays reflects the success the HDBaseT Alliance has enjoyed in terms of growing to more than 80 members offering solutions that enable end-to-end deployment of HDBaseT.”

The HDBaseT Alliance was founded by LG, Samsung, Sony and Valens Semiconductor.
