Pakedge Debuts W7R Wireless Access Point

  • PDF

Pakedge expands its wireless access point portfolio with the W7R wireless access point (WAP) promising improved range, data throughput and reliability as well as greater configuration options.

W7R WAPIt is a rack-mountable, dual-band number able to provide simultaneous 2.4 and 5.0GHz operation. Smartwav technology allows it to "learn" the surrounding wireless environment to dynamically direct signals towards client devices and around potential interference sources.

Four antennas allow it to broadcast constructive signals by synchronising waveforms, further increasing range, throughput and service quality. Meanwhile band-steering functionality automatically pushes capable clients from the 2.4GHz to the less-congested 5.0Ghz band for improved performance.

The built-in TruStream suite allows the W7R to recognise and categorise network traffic, ensuring precedence to high-priority traffic of the streaming video, music or VoIP variety while avoiding interference or high latency.

Pakedge says the W7R is optimised for use with smartphones, tablets, laptops and home control devices, and is compatible with the C369 wireless network controller to receive commands from a central control centre. It is designed for custom installation and high-reliability application, with aluminium housing providing maximum protection and efficient cooling even in tight spaces.
